School Counseling Therapy and Education Materials

Help me give my students some tools to help them better regulate their emotions and focus. The books, fidgets, pillows and bookshelf will provide the opportunity to implement bibliotherapy and play therapy and mindfulness strategies with students.

My Project

The goal of this project is to help enrich my student's experiences in counseling. One way of doing this is to offer a better variety of toys in my office to offer comfort and more options for self expression. Weighted stuffed animals, fidgets, and kinetic sand also provide sensory experiences that can be used in mindfulness exercises which can help with emotional regulation and focus. The floor pillows also will help with in guided mindfulness exercises. A bookshelf for displaying my books will help us better utilize the books I already have.

It is important to me to help students at my school with emotional awareness, regulation, and respect for self and others.

I have had great experience using A Little Spot books with students, and having the physical books as well as toys to go a long with the stories would help me in teaching these important concepts.

I was able to observe what toys and stories students responded well to last year and I have carefully crafted this list to fit ttheir preferences and needs at school.
