Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In our low-income, high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Because of the many challenges they face, I am looking to help my students stay motivated and have fun learning.
My students enjoy coming to school each day.
They love learning and researching new things. They just need the tools that will help them achieve these goals. Our students range from visual to tactile learners. They work best with color-coded charts showing them each step of the way.
My Project
Each year our school holds a carnival. We want to bring our students, families and staff together to have a great time.
Family engagement is a huge part of school community.
Each year we hold a family fun carnival. All of our students and their families come out to have fun. 90% of our teaching staff participates in the school wide fun.
We need new games for our students and their families to play. The inflatable football toss would be a great fit for all of our sport loving families. The bean bag toss and ring toss is fun for all ages.
The fish bowls and ping pong balls are so much fun for everyone. The cups let the staff and students come up with their own games!
