Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Welcome to Bakery 148, our innovative vocational program designed to empower students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Intellectual Disabilities (InD) through hands-on education. Our program aims to teach essential employability skills while fostering creativity and independence among our students.
As part of Bakery 148, we operate a Cuban-style breakfast spot where our students gain real-world experience by making and serving breakfast items to our school's staff and students.
This immersive learning environment not only enhances their employability skills but also boosts their confidence and self-esteem. The money earned goes towards paying for our Community Based Instruction field trips.
We are in need of donations to help keep our costs down.
Aprons: Durable aprons will help our students stay clean and professional while working in the kitchen.
Food Bags: We need bags for packaging and delivering our bakery items to customers.
Coffee Cups: To serve our signature Cuban coffee (Cafe con leche) with style and professionalism.
Food Service Gloves: Essential for maintaining hygiene and safety standards in food preparation and service.
Cuban Coffee: Authentic Cuban coffee to create the perfect cup for our customers.
Sugar: A key ingredient for our Cuban coffee.
Hair Nets: To ensure food safety and hygiene for both our students and customers.
Stickers: Fun and colorful stickers to personalize our packaging.
By supporting our Bakery 148 program, you're not only providing essential supplies but also contributing to the growth and development of our students with ASD and InD. Your generosity will help create meaningful learning experiences and prepare these students for successful futures in the workforce. Thank you for making a difference in their lives!
