School-based Therapy Experience Enhanced

My Project

I work with elementary school children who have special needs. I provide school-based Mental Health services to them.

To assist the children in feeling supported within the school system and learn tools to cope, I meet with students to assess their needs, and create a therapy plan to assist them throughout the school year with minimal out-of-school disruptions.

Our students are special because they also believe they can achieve greatness when given the support of administrative personnel, such as myself. We work as a team to ensure the children/students thrive in both school and home settings.

Items chosen include fidget toys, sand and play therapy items, and other incentives, such as candies to help aid in developing an incentive mindset to remain in the classroom and demonstrate brave positive behaviors.

These items are necessary to ensure the children are able to have items that build their own personal coping skills in an effort to reduce disruptions and focus fully on academic goals.
