My students need these story works magazines to have more things to read! Within these magazines there are current events and paired texts so that the students have fiction and non fiction items.

My Students

My students love to read and anytime we get new materials they are very excited to use them! They would be ecstatic to get a story works magazine 6 times throughout the school year.

My students are third graders who love to read and need more current events to read.

My students attend a title 1 school in Arizona where many of the students come from homes where reading is not emphasized. They don't have a lot of access to magazines, or books outside of school.

My Project

My students will use these magazines to read articles that are based on current events and or trends in our world. Students will be able to close read paired texts and answer questions about the articles. They will be able to take them home and read them to their parents and siblings. We will be able to take what we read about and write about it as well.

These magazines will make a difference in my students' learning by allowing them to each have their own magazine to read, and to apply strategies that we are learning in class.

They will be able to highlight, circle, underline and draw arrows to prove their answers.
