This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Scope magazines has become such an integral part of my reading class for my diverse learners. The magazine offers timely, high-interest, non-fiction passages which can be hard to come by, captivating literature pieces, plays, often which are culturally relevant and represent my student population.
My students become so engaged with the high interest articles and they truly enjoy reading them.Some of these articles will introduces students to important concepts including racism, systemic racism, and anti-racism.
The importance of racial representation in education is crucial for my students so they can engage in meaningful conversations on these topics.
This resource is one that truly motivates and engages my students in Reading. These fascinating and powerful stories which will enhance and educate them through different genres (world events, debates, dramas, short stories, etc.) which inform and prepare them for high school.
