Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are hardworking and loving individuals. Despite their hardships and personal lives, they come into class ready to learn and grow as not only students but as people. Teaching them is a privilege and as much as they learn from me, I learn from them. My classroom is a place of safety and stability for my students. We work hard to create a sense of community, family, and security for all who walk through our door. They would truly benefit from some extra support!

My Project

My class currently consists of 2nd and 3rd grade students. Each grade level is working towards mastering reading comprehension goals with a variety of resources. Students will use these supplemental materials to increase reading comprehension and knowledge of current events. We will use these weekly or monthly to expose students to multiple styles of reading and writing. These magazines will also assist in student assessment achievement. These resources will also be available for students to take home for extra reading material in their home. I look forward to helping my students reach their potential with these supplemental materials that will be beneficial to them.
