This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting a classroom set of Scholastic News with Science Spin because the students find them very engaging. I had a few old Scholastic News magazines in my classroom library from when I taught First Grade in 2015. The students have been sharing them because they love reading the magazines, but I only have a few copies. The students feel that the information in Scholastic News is not too overwhelming.

The integration of Scholastic News with Science Spin will help increase students exposure to Science topics which will support their growth as readers.

A classroom set of Scholastic News with Science Spin will provide each student the opportunity to have their own new copy and with frequent new topics it helps to keep the students excited about the next issue. A subscription to Scholastic News and Science Spin would also provide me the ability to send them home with students so that students have reading materials at home.
