My Project
My goal is to be able to put Scholastic News in the hands of all my scholars. Scholastic News is a fabulous resource that is culturally relevant and of high interest to learners.
Third graders struggle with understanding and caring about informational texts.
It is usually "boring" to them. Scholastic News is an opportunity to help learners find interest in the world around them while gaining skills to read informational texts. Using these magazines regularly will be useful during morning work or small group reading time. The magazines offer multiple articles, along with digital resources, such as videos, questions, and activities. These articles could also be a great tool for students to take home and have materials at home to read and discuss world events with their family.
