This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach English/Language Arts and Social Studies. It is important for our young learners to read, learn and take an interest in local and world events, to become concerned global citizens. We will use these weekly magazines to practice reading nonfiction, discuss Point of View, participate in debates, write summaries, respond to writing prompts about various articles, etc. The students will be able to keep these magazines to have material to read at home to practice their skills and to engage in conversations with their family at home, promoting family engagement!
