My Project

Scholastic News is an essential source of nonfiction text in a fourth grade classroom. The articles are current and pertinent to the interests and needs of my students. Having this Scholastic News subscription will engage my students on issues of importance throughout the school year.

Information is key and Scholastic News brings the news to students in an engaging, colorful, and interesting manner.

The students are all on task when they receive a copy of the magazine and can be overheard discussing articles with each other. It is a useful tool for practicing reading and comprehending nonfiction text.

Every issue features high-quality nonfiction, close reading questions, and skill-building activities to help me meet my fourth grade teaching objectives as well as the Common Core Standards.
