This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What makes my students so special? To me, it's the fact that no matter what troubles they may have going on in their lives, either in school or outside of school, they show up every day and are ready to learn.

We all come from different backgrounds and lives, but in the classroom we truly are a family.

My kids can be wild, goofy, sarcastic... but they are mine and I want to do everything I can to make sure they have the best education possible.

My Project

I want to spark a greater interest in literacy and history. I feel StoryWorks and Scholastic News will help me accomplish that. I am asking for 10 of each for a year subscription for the 2020-2021 school year that I can use during our small group/centers time.

These will give students a chance to explore different genres and history in a fun, interesting way.

These magazines were recommended by a co-worker who said she uses them every year and that her students enjoy them a lot and they stay engaged when reading the stories that are inside.
