This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am constantly looking for new types of texts for my students to read and take home to study. My students will have the opportunity to read and learn information about current events in their world. The concepts of world, continent, country, region, state, city, and community are very abstract and hard to comprehend for many of my students. This weekly classroom news magazine will motivate my students to read. Issues cover a wide range of real-world topics using nonfiction text and themes kids love to learn about, while helping to build critical skills like reading comprehension and critical-thinking.
These magazines will help open their eyes to reading about things that happen all around the world.
Please help us in any way you can. Unfortunately, our school doesn't have the money to purchase these magazines for my classroom. Thank you for any donation you can give.
