My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. I want to introduce them to ALL types of ART and different ways to express themselves. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet.

My Project

Scholastic Art is a magazine I'd like to get for my students. Each issue teaches important art lessons and develops key reading skills. The magazine comes alive with vibrant works of art and articles I know the children will be excited to read about.

In every issue, we will learn about major art movements, art history, techniques and more, with articles and hands on activities that make art meaningful to every student.

With your contribution, we will get 6 issues for each student in a class, and will be reused for the whole school to use. Your help in making this valuable resource a part of our students education is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
