This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Color helps students learn. Do you remember what it was like to receive a brand new set of colored pencils? The possibilities were endless. Having a set to use across the curriculum enhances student learning and inspires creativity.
My students are enthusiastic learners eager to work hard.
They attend an inner city school in Southern California. Most students come from families with limited resources and limited formal education. Students enjoy coming to school and look forward to sharing their learning through their drawings, diagrams, and their writing.
My Project
Throughout the day students in my class take notes, make diagrams, and illustrations to demonstrate their learning. With the help of colored pencils my students' work will come to life. When they are organizing notes or solving word problems in math, they can use color to make them clearer. During Writer's Workshop, students will be able to use colored pencils to create vivid illustrations.
I believe that every student can reach his highest potential with the right teaching and the right materials.
Having colored pencils at their disposal will help them express their learning better. Thank you for your donations.
