My Students
Students in my classroom are creative, resilient and passionate about learning. I teach at a low income school, and my students face many challenges in their daily life. Many of my students are homeless, have incarcerated parents, and have experienced various types of childhood trauma. The odds are stacked against them, but they still have the courage to show up every day at school and learn.
My Project
With all the financial struggles present during the pandemic, help me relieve stress for my students' families by providing them with necessary school supplies. Many of the parents of my students are currently unemployed or homeless and do not have the means to provide their student with necessary supplies.
My students are intelligent and deserve access to the same supplies as their peers in other areas of our community.
Their experience at school should not be restricted by being unable to purchase important school supplies. Many times I buy these supplies, so funding this project would help me as well be able to have what students need to kick off the school year.
