My Project

No child should go hungry! When children have access to snacks and meals every day, they feel better and do better in school. They have what they need to grow and just be children.

At my school, we have the national school breakfast and lunch program, which is a tremendous part of the effort to make sure kids thrive.

But when school is over for the day, there are gaps that need filling. One innovative way that I can fill the hunger gap is with a classroom pantry where students can take home snacks or have a snack during the day when they are hungry. The classroom food pantry will complement the school breakfast and lunch program, providing access to food for my students and their families throughout the day and after the school day has ended.
