Scela Classroom Supplies for Exceptional Learners on the Autism Spectrum

My Project

The wonderful students in my adaptive classroom are hard working and eager to learn. However, they have differing abilities and learning styles. Several are on the spectrum and struggle with focus and attention. Since technology is used for most instruction, many students are struggling to connect basic concepts. These manipulatives will offer students hands-on learning and incentives to complete tasks. With these products, students can display how they are arriving at their answers in math or spelling. This enables me to correct errors much faster than using technology alone. It also fosters a sense of community in our classroom which strengthens mental health and social skills. Students with exceptionalities often struggle with social skills, verbal expression, and anxiety. It is my hope that we can use these tools along with other teaching strategies to build the self-esteem of our students. Thank you for your time and consideration.
