SCANtastic Second Grade

My Students

Teaching all subject levels in a day is a daunting task, but it's made easier through the use of creative materials and subject integration. My students are fun, energetic, and imaginative as a part of their "job" in my classroom. It's my job to keep my classroom just as imaginative and exciting!

Teaching is more than what's done with pencils and paper, but having the right supplies helps foster a love of learning and lasting relationships!

My students are very hard workers. Responsibility and creativity are fostered daily for each of them. They work towards creating a future for themselves that is as big as their imaginations. Students have the power to start to create those futures today, so I set and keep high expectations within my classroom. Knowing this, students work harder as they strive to reach their individual "best" levels.

My Project

My students have each been researching animals. Now that they've finished their research and reports, we're ready to get creative!

We need YOU to help us get a 3D scanner for the project portion of our unit because we are going to transform plain canvas shoes to look like our animals-- using the scanner we'll upload digital copies of our shoes and use iPad minis to digitally design our shoes before we decorate the real shoes!

Last but not least, we will have a fashion show where each student will walk the runway as their research is read aloud by a local celebrity! The community will be invited to our event so we can showcase how our students are integrating STEAM and core subjects, all while having a WILDly fun time!
