Technology is becoming an increasingly important aspect in the classroom, which is why I am requesting a scanner. I am a 2nd grade teacher at an inner city charter school in New York. The majority of my students qualify for free or reduced school lunch, come from single family homes, and are at risk emotionally and academically. In addition, I have several special education students who need a lot of time and support.
From year to year I like to save student work for my students to refer back to for guidance and support. If I were able to save their work on my laptop, I would reduce the amount of paper in my student's files and be able to share that work with their parents and future teachers much more easily. If everything were saved on my computer, I would also be able to refer to student work in the future to guide my lessons and make my teaching better.
In order to be able to save this work for future generations, I would need a scanner. Not only would the scanner be environmentally friendly, but it would also be another way to incorporate technology into my classroom.
With your donation, my students and I will be able to save their work literally forever, without worrying about it getting ruined. This scanner will help us to stay organized, informed, and creative!
