My Students

My students come from a very diverse background. I have many students that come from other countries and are new to our education. Technology would give them a great chance to bridge the gaps of what they know and new things to learn about. Some of my other students come from households that have very little and their parents live paycheck-to-paycheck to make ends meet. Having the ability to use technology that they may never have the chance to use at home could open up doors for these students.

My students are very excited and eager to create new projects utilizing a scanner to make the students art work into a file to be 3D printed.

We utilize a lot of technology in our school, but it becomes difficult for some students to learn when they don't have access to up to date resources.

They need the experiences of being able to work with and operate current programs, apps, and equipment to better be prepared for the future employment markets and careers.

My Project

Currently we have 3D printers in our school making awesome projects, but students that do better with drawing on paper don't have the chance to have their creations made. Using a scanner we can turn their designs into a file that can be used to 3D print what they created. I try to connect engineering design too the everyday career skills students' may need in the future. Since not all engineered projects are created originally on a computer program.

I wanted to give my students a chance to experience a 2D drawing come to life in 3D.

When we create technical drawings of some of our projects, students' can scan them into a program that will allow use to make them digital. After that we can either print them or customize the drawings further. We really try to make our students' experience skills they will possibly see in the real world and this could be a great opportunity for students to gain those skills.
