This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are part of a high poverty / low income district. They come from a variety of backgrounds and have their unique learning challenges. But they are all eager to leatn. I have students and families that use Braille and American Sign Language to achieve success. All sixth grade students at our site students come through my classroom for Science. They are inspired to dig deeper when offered real life leaening experiences. They thrive with hands on learning phenomena. Please help me to enrich their experiences.
My Project
My students are studying human body systems. They are studying how bones, muscles and ligaments work togerher in our Skeletal and Muscular systems. They are studying how the Nervous system helps us experience our 5 senses. The Circulatory and Digestive systems complete their unit of study. Pictures in books and captions fall short when trying to fully grasp the marvels of the human body. These tools will provide opportunities for several dissection projects to complete their understanding. This could be the beginning of their future in medicine or simply the basics necessary to live a healthy life. Our next researcher to discover a cure or our next surgeon is sitting in a classroom today!
