Our package had arrived! The children were sharing subtraction stories they had created with their table mates. I sent a student to the office to pick up our package while they continued sharing. When my helper returned, I told them I had a surprise.\r\n\r\nThe students cleared their desks, then sat on the rug as I asked them to do. When I pulled out my old small basket of Squigz, they looked a little puzzled. How were they all going to use something that I only let 2 students use at a time?\r\n\r\nThen I shared that 2 generous people and 2 generous companies (Edison International Foundation and The DonorsChoose Scholar Society) purchased enough Squigz for everyone. They all cheered!\r\n\r\nThey went back to their tables and acted out different subtraction stories with their Squigz. I shot video of a few.
