This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Bullying is a huge problem that commands our immediate attention. The documentary movie "Bully" raises awareness and brings the affects of bullying to light where we can address it and work together in an effort to put an end to it.

Our students consist of special needs and english language learners coming from low-income, impoverished families with challenging backgrounds.

When they are faced with hard times at home, they are more prone to mask their true feelings by bullying others. Our students strive to be successful and do their very best; though economical situations may cause hardships on their families and in turn cause them to become angry. I believe with proper information and guidance in school, they will learn ways to deal with their feelings and refrain from bullying others.

My Project

By being able to take our entire grade level to see the movie "Bully", we can make a powerful impact on our school culture. We take bullying very seriously and will do whatever it takes to try to put an end to it. Children that are harassed and hurt by bullies have given up on school, become depressed and some have even taken their own lives. We, as adults, educators, and parents need to be proactive and deal with the matter with the utmost seriousness in order to send a strong message that bullying must stop! With your generous donation, we will have the opportunity to educate our students on what bullying is, the effects bullying has on everyone involved, and ways we can stop this from happening.

It is vital that all students have the opportunity to develop important interpersonal skills and understand how their actions affect those around them.

This movie will aide us in our effort to develop such important skills in our students, and create a safe, bully-free school environment for all.
