Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

As a math, science, and creative writing teacher, I incorporate many learning styles during lessons and review. A few examples of our projects are: science fair project presentations, Talk the Math (where students explain their thinking when solving problems out loud to the class daily), classroom Jeopardy (with student game show hosts), expert review (game show with buzzers), authors' chair (reading student published works to the class), and science videos (like Bill Nye videos). Many of these projects are in need of sound amplification. Therefore, we are asking for a microphone and portable amplifier. This equipment will also be used within the Language Arts department for spelling bees and outdoor end-of-the-year award ceremonies. With a microphone and portable amplifier, these learning celebrations will be much more audible and enjoyable. Our school currently has no working portable sound amplification. Winton Middle School is a Title I school with 65% of our students receiving free lunch, and 35% speaking English as a second language.
