My Project

Bright smiles light up the classroom as these first graders of Native Hawaiian descent bring their vibrant energy. Telling jokes while their laughter fills the room, the Aloha Spirit is alive and well in this class. However, our classroom library carpet is old and tattered, and literally coming apart at the seams.

A new carpet is visually appealing and will draw students to the center of the classroom: the library.

First grade is often when the magic of books truly takes hold. It is a time when the letters and sounds come together to create words, sentences, and stories. Naturally, students want to cozy up to a good book in a comfortable spot as they learn to read and appreciate books.
