This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A picture is worth a thousand words. We need a classroom camera to document all the exciting things that happen in our classroom as well as take pictures that will support our weekly themes in our language arts and across the curriculum.

I have 21 first graders in my class.

They attend an urban school in California. It is full inclusion classroom and we have students who range from special education services to students who are performing above grade level. We also have students who learning English as a second language.

My Project

With a camera we will be able to document all the exciting events that we experience as a class on a daily basis. Then use the photos to write personal narratives and allow for students to begin to explore photojournalism and create a classroom newsletter.

Receiving a camera would be wonderful for my students because it will allow for them to capture special moments in their lives and when they look back on those photos they will be able to remember fondly their year in first grade!
