Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students have Autism, ADHD and many other learning disabilities. Our children are all considered non-verbal and are low functioning autistic students. Our children are highly active and need a 2:1 ratio for learning and safe supervision.

They each have their own distinct and unique gifts and abilities that make it both a joy and a challenge to unlock.

They are loving and caring students that will surprise you daily with their odd sense of humor and contagious love and laughter. Our goal is to increase their developmental learning through technology.

My Project

To differentiate our learning, we have chosen an iPad to keep inside the classroom. The iPad case will keep it safe. Our students are still learning that if you drop it, it will break, and the case will help prevent that from happening.

We need the iPad to capture special moments and allow the student to explore technology without fear of it being taken away.

There are many apps that the children will enjoy that will assist in building math, language and science skills!

We will use the Apple Pencil so that the students will be able to draw and capture special moments that will build confidence in math through art, since math and art have a long historical relationship.

Our students can’t resist using iPads to making movies that have to be deleted! Having our own classroom iPad will allow the students to explore more with more freedom.
