Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My third grade Hispanic students are very eager to learn. They come from a gang infested environment with a stressful home-life. We are an at-risk school with good potential. My kids are great and need enthusiasm in their lives.

Our students cannot afford to buy supplies, therefore our school uses donations and Title I money to pay for our schools needs. Teachers spend their own money to meet most of the needs in their classrooms.

I would like to start a yearbook club that can be responsible for creating memories to put together at the end of the year. I want my students to be able to look back on our good times and smile. In order to do this my class needs a digital camera, color photo printer, printing supplies, and a binding machine to create a yearbook the students can keep as a token of their year. The yearbook club will be responsible for taking photos of all our activities and school functions. They will also write articles about what happened throughout the year. This club will be a motivational tool for my students to be actively involved in a positive goal. They can be creative and responsible. They can sell the yearbooks and keep the tradition going year to year. This will benefit my students on the yearbook committee and inspire their fellow classmates.

With your help and support my students can make a difference at our school. You can make it possible to let my students create memories that can last a lifetime and start traditions. This project is important because it is an incentive that can have positive effects on my students' future and self confidence. It will also document the good times in their lives. Please help support our third grade goal. It will be greatly appreciated and carried on for years to come.
