Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is unique and exceptional in the most important ways. Our students are incredibly kind, passionate, bright, articulate, and creative kids. They love school and are curious about their world. They learn by doing, building, sharing, and creating.
We are a preschool special education classroom; a part of an inclusive, bilingual, urban pre-kindergarten.
Our students are all language learners, bravely learning either English or Spanish for the first time. Our students adore each other and live for playing together. We work to give our students a variety of rich, multi-sensory experiences to support their learning.
My Project
Young children are visual learners. In our classroom, we make books about our students to teach them social skills. We use photos to provide visual models of concepts and vocabulary. We make schedules and aides to teach them how to complete a task.
We put their pictures all around our classroom to show our students that this space is their own.
We showcase their work, their play, their families, and their friendships. The classroom reflects all that matters in their lives.
This printer and printing supplies will enable us to easily and abundantly create books and visual aids​ that reflect the important work and relationships of their childhood.
