My Students

My students are the BEST. They have embraced their last year in middle school in preparation for high school. The learning curve is steep as my students have matured much since entering middle school and are learning that success is not measured by a grade but by learning from our mistakes.

My students have embraced the journey of learning to master challenging content and learning from failures.

They really are the BEST. The students come from diverse backgrounds and each contributes something to the class that is unique.

For many, the content is more challenging than the students are accustomed too and perseverance becomes key to success. Our school is located in a community right outside of Memphis, Tennessee. The students come together to help one another as we focus on positive behaviors. My students are willing to help one another out and help one another become successful.

My Project

Middle school students are learning to be more independent and flexible in their learning and setting. I desire to have a classroom that will allow my students to freely chose their seat based on self awareness of their learning environment and what best fits their comfort level and peers to work with.

By adding additional seating to my classroom, students will have more freedom and flexibility to chose their own level of comfort and environment to learn that best suites them and interact with one another through peer to peer engagement.

I am requesting dry erase tables for students to be able to collaborate and enjoy a roomier seat for their growing bodies. Some of my students are over 6' and could benefit from not using the traditional classroom desk.
