Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school, with 90% of our students on free or reduced-price meal plans. We have many English Language Learner (ELL) students at our school. Over half of my students are ELL students. Our students come from working families and families who speak other languages at home. Some parents are not able to communicate in English with us, but we do have Spanish-speaking translators on site.

Our staff is very caring and committed to providing a nurturing, fun, and engaging classroom for all our students.

We want students to know that we will be there for them and give them as much as we possibly can. One great thing about our school is that we have one-to-one devices, iPads or Chromebook computers. For many students, this is the first time they have been able to use and engage with today's technology.

My Project

My project is for art supplies and STEAM supplies like paper, watercolors, and ink. I would like to use these supplies for STEAM inspired lessons. Having science, technology, engineering, art and math wrapped into a project is always a fun time for my students. These items will really make difference in their lives as they will get the opportunity to create fun art projects.

My students are fully engaged whenever they're involved in an art project!

I want my students to design and create art posters for our unit of study involving the Rainforest. We study this amazing place each year and I want my students to create posters with their art supplies for a call of action. I want them to make people aware why saving the rainforest is essential to our Earth. I want them to integrate the science, technology and math side into this art project. I know my students will have fun creating these posters with your help!
