My Students
My students do the most amazing things with the least amazing instruments. The instruments are old, some are broken, some even barely work. Yet, my kids perform level 3-4 music and attend festivals and parades. Even beyond that, they aid the local elementary schools with private tutoring and middle school prep. This band program truly is a family and these students make it what it is. They are truly amazing and deserve the help that you would be able to provide.
My Project
My school is a Title 1 school, which means students come from the lowest poverty levels. We have to share our small inventory of instruments across the school and because of this wear and tear does happen. I as a teacher can only repair things so much on a budget of $0.
You can make the difference by providing the school with instruments and accessories like the tuba stand, saxophone, and sticks!
These instruments are in high demand here and with them a lot of students will see (and hear) greater success. It is surprising how much a new instrument or quality materials can affect student motivation, effort, and even skill.
