Help me give my students more useable classroom space to keep a safe distance from each other and sanitizing wipes to keep our hands clean and safe for everyone.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach twenty-four, energetic, amazing and fabulous firsties in an urban PreK-8th grade school. One hundred percent of my students receive free lunch and many of them come from families that are living well below the poverty line.
They are all so special because they always come to school with smiles on their faces, eager and ready to learn, no matter what the circumstances may be at home.
That type of enthusiasm and willingness to learn inspires me to do and want more for them.
My Project
The Flex-Space storage cabinet will help add additional and a significant space to our classroom in order for us to maintain our social distancing guidelines to stay six feet apart while we are in school.
The Covid-19 pandemic has created a different world for everyone, especially our students.
Coming this fall, we are all required to keep our social distance from each other. With the size of my classroom and number of students, that will be a difficult task, I will need to consolidate places within my classroom that I currently use to store essentials such as my teacher guides, laptop, document camera and various other teaching tools that are used everyday. They are stored in different bookcases, shelves and crates around the classroom which take up more space. With this one piece of furniture, I can free up several places in my classroom, leaving more space for us to spread out and keep our distance!
