Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What are your fondest memories of your first school experience? My students love to see themselves singing and dancing. I want to store those warm special memories for them. We need the right technology to record and inspire every event!

I have the loveliest group of students.

It's a dynamic group of Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten students with many talents and inspirations. My Transitional Kindergarten students come with smiles on their faces and are ready to learn. They love music, dance, playing house and art. Keeping these memories alive is important. An Apple MacBook Pro computer will give us more ways to engage and learn visually. Our school is a small Primary Center and we are part of the breakfast in the classroom program.

My Project

We need a powerful computer with all the capabilities to drag and drop actions and make the memories become a reality. This computer will be used to quickly move text, images, video and sound files from other sources into inspirational projects that will "jump start" the best memory book! My students can take turns creating videos and help organize their work efficiently. I can help them effectively integrate visual learning techniques as we address multiple learning styles. We will use the word journals to collect illustrations, their first writing samples and many other journal entries aligned to our units of study. This computer will help enhance our research and complete many projects in small groups or large group lessons. Best of all we will be inspired to make wonderful memories to keep forever. My Transitional Kindergarten student will love the experience and they will enjoy the computer too! We are at a disadvantage now, with the lack of technology in the classroom.

In the standardized testing era, wonderful learning is getting left behind.

An Apple computer will help us shape an innovating memory book on DVD. These memories will hold the children's laughter, song and learning. We want to promote creativity and technology in every child's classroom environment. We want smart, active, and creative kids, but we need your help. My students can revisit their most precious time in school and build their self esteem as they become lifelong learners.
