My Students
My class is comprised of a very diverse group of juniors and seniors who enjoy a love of learning. They strive for the best and push themselves to achieve their goals. I am impressed by their determination and enthusiasm. Our goal is to work towards increasing the availability of Dual Enrollment, CLEP, and AP classes so that they reflect the diversity of our school.
My Project
Our high school students eat lunch very late in the school day. They come to class very hungry, and it is hard for them to concentrate while they are hungry before lunch. Every day, I have several students per class asking me if I have snacks because they are starving! Most only bring enough food for lunch and nothing else or have to wait to buy lunch in the cafeteria.
Having food in my classroom will allow my students to feed their hunger.
This will increase concentration, participation, and focus in class. Getting this project fully funded would help my students have the food they need to increase productivity.
