Help me give my students the opportunity to witness the plant and butterfly life cycles up close while also allowing them to help to the save the Monarch butterflies.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help our class learn about the life cycle of plants and butterflies, while also helping us save the Monarch butterflies and contribute to the environment.
We will plant Milkweed seeds and watch firsthand how the seeds germinate and grow into the plants that are the sole food source for Monarch butterflies.
We will use the butterfly kits to house the plants and watch the eggs hatch into caterpillars. We will document the number of days it takes from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly.
Then we release the butterflies outside so the butterflies can lay eggs and start the life cycle again!
