My Students

Each of my students are special in their own unique way. It’s their excitement to learn, their excitement to excel, or simply their excitement to make me happy that keeps me coming back to them year after year. They have persevered through all the obstacles thrown their way and still show up to school with an eagerness to learn.

My Project

These books will continue to enhance the literary classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy, but with COVID this year checking out books will look a little different. I am seeking any and all help to eliminate (or at least minimize) student wait time to read high interest books. These books have been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them the past few weeks of school read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. Students will be able to build a reader community amongst their classrooms, and challenge each other to reach their reading goals. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
