This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Mrs. L, I can't open my document! My flash drive is dead!" Passing on the USB our district gave schools was a fantastic idea. We thought they would last for at least five years. However, by fourth grade, more than half died and students lost all their work! A horrendous and heart-breaking situation.
African American students make up about 70% of our school; the rest includes a rich diversity of cultures such as Latino and Asian.
Since we are a Social Justice Magnet School, we are teaching respect, tolerance, and teamwork. Our students are aware of the issues awaiting them and they are getting ready! Unfortunately, my school is a title I LAUSD with minimum funding and most of our parents can't afford donations.
My Project
Thanks to your kind contribution, students could receive an individual USB drive they could count on! Having those USB's is essential as we do not have personal laptops like some other fortunate schools. My kids need to take turns on the class computers and be able to transport their work where ever they sit! With new flash drives, they'll be confident that their documents and presentations won't suddenly vanish.
Your generosity will ensure that my students will be able to complete and present their projects.
You'll help them pass their end-of-the-year exam with flying colors! Thank you for making a difference.
