Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
At my school, we serve a very underprivileged group of individuals. These young ladies and gentlemen come from broken homes with little money (school is 100% free lunch). They have very little to look forward to and that is something that I try to change within the walls of my classroom. I believe that through your help my room can become a refuge for those students who see education as their way out of this downward spiral. In addition, I want my room to be a place where people who don't like education can eventually start to turn themselves around before they go to high school.
My Project
With the softball season about to begin I am looking to refresh our Health and Safety Supplies along with updating our water containers. After many years of dedicated service our athletes have worn on our current water jugs and they need a nice retirement. In their place I would like to add new wheeled jugs so that students can more easily move them to busses for away games and take a back breaking burden off of myself. We are also in need of a new medical bag. Our current one is somewhat small and needs to be restocked. If we had two medical bags then these could be sent with multiple teams incase the away games are not together.
These items will help not only our softball girls, but our other award winning athletics programs throughout the year like football, basketball, and soccer.
