My Project
Luther Burbank High School in Sacramento boasts a community of students with exceptional creativity, talent, and a keen interest in the arts. Our students are special not only for their diverse backgrounds but also for their unwavering passion for expressing themselves through artistic endeavors. The ceramics studio plays a pivotal role in nurturing their talents, providing a space for self-expression and skill development. However, the studio currently faces a crucial need – the acquisition of a new pug mill, an essential tool for ceramic artists.
A pug mill is central to the ceramics studio as it facilitates the preparation of clay, a fundamental material in pottery and sculpture.
Our current pug mill is broken beyond repair, hindering the students' ability to work efficiently and limiting the scope of their creative exploration. By investing in a new pug mill, we aim to enable our students to focus more on honing their artistic skills, and less on overcoming technical obstacles.
The primary goal of this fundraising project is to empower our students with the necessary resources to excel in ceramics, fostering a rich and dynamic learning environment. With a new pug mill, students will be able to work with a wider range of clay types, experiment with diverse techniques, and produce higher-quality artworks. This project aligns with our commitment to providing a comprehensive arts education that not only equips students with technical skills but also encourages creative thinking and self-expression. Your support for this initiative will directly contribute to the artistic development and educational growth of Luther Burbank High School students, ensuring they have the tools they need to flourish as aspiring ceramic artists.
