This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing. They have prepared to learn and try their best to achieve high expectations every day. Our school is located in a low-income area with most students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

Engagement is key for my students and I want them to be engaged in their learning and succeed!

I focus on the potential and growth of the children. That growth is measured in student joy and love for learning, their engagement in activities, and their desire to share their learning at home during these uncertain times!

My Project

First grade students work hard to learn and improve their reading and math skills. My students use these skills daily and record their progress into individual Seesaw portfolios. The portfolios include High Frequency Words, Language Arts, Maker Space, Math, News, PE, Pen Pals, Poetry, Reading, Science, and Technology files. Due to the Coronavirus they continue to build their portfolios, from home, using the same tools. This is surely a year to remember but, we will not be returning to the classroom to create a yearbook of their accomplishments.

An Enfain Flash Drive will save these portfolios that provide a digital yearbook of their growth, allowing students to look back at this time as a piece of history to be preserved.

My students love school and use technology to show, improve, and catalog their growth and understanding through the Seesaw app. At the end of the school year parents have the opportunity to download their child's portfolio to save as a memory book of their First Grade Year. I would like to ensure each child has their portfolio for years to come by providing an Enfain Flash Drive, for storing their complete academic year, to Save and See. By helping to fund this project, donors will provide my students with a view of where they started and the growth they made toward a bright future despite stay at home conditions!
