Sargassum Project Part 1

My Project

Students are using waste materials to develop stainable biodegradable products. Their projects go toe to to with single use products that people use unconsciously. The goal is to develop replacements for those disposable single use products by utilizing products that would be considered waste. Currently our focus has been on tree based products. The hope is that by replacing single use paper with sargassum based paper they could simultaneously address the growing problem of sargassum in costal communities while decreasing deforestation and promoting better air quality(specifically in dense urban environments).
