My Students
A winner is someone who recognizes their God-given talents, works to develop them into the highest level skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.
Unfortunately, not all students have access to proper workout and training equipment to accomplish his or her goals.
My students work hard to grow, to learn and to succeed.
90 percent of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. At 24.2 percent, Mississippi has one of the highest poverty levels in the United States. 90 percent of the basketball team members live in poverty and are plagued by social and environmental barriers that hinder access to the constructive physical activities that promote social and academic success.
Due to the extreme poverty, team members cannot afford the uniforms, shoes, registration fees, and other costs associated with organized youth athletics. The school has limited resources for in-school activities and even less for non-school hour enrichment activities.
My Project
My students are very determined individuals. They come to school ready to learn, and when traveling for sports, prepared to play. The pandemic isn't slowing down, and here in Mississippi, it is spreading rapidly. My students are back face-to-face learning. As their teacher and coach, it is my job to make sure my students are protected. I am requesting hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes and disinfectant spray to stay safe in the classroom and while traveling.
My students deserve to have a safe learning environment.
My students participate in a variety of Physical Education classes and sports. They sanitize their hands often, disinfecting the desks, benches, bleachers, and other equipment we use daily. Having an abundance supply of disinfectant wipes and spray and hand sanitizer will help keep down germs and make a great impact in our classroom.
