My Project

Please help me to bring social emotional learning to my classroom. As teachers, we are now planning with social emotional support standards in mind. We are often on the front line of emotional outbursts. While the classroom is a safe place to learn, we are not always equipped to meet our students' needs emotionally. I’d like to use sand tray therapy in my classroom to help my students, verbal and nonverbal, be able to communicate effectively with me. In turn, I can then communicate their needs effectively to their parents as well as other school personnel. Thank you for your consideration. This will open new forms of communication for those students who struggle with anxiety, depression, and difficult home lives.
