Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are culturally and academically diverse. We, as a class, work as a community. We celebrate differences and cultures. We share ideas and traditions of other cultures. We work together to succeed socially, emotionally, and academically.

Many of my students are English language learners and work really hard to achieve their individual goals.

Many of my students' families do not speak English. My school works hard for our students to succeed and prepare them for college. My school also works with parents to help their children succeed in life and education.

My Project

Art gives students critical sensory input. It is a form of creativity. Students will used the different art materials: paint, sand and assorted puppets to create their own art work that will correlate with literacy. Students often communicate more easily with puppets, giving them confidence to express their ideas and feelings

Specialists say that art is valuable because it allows children to to deal with scary or confusing emotions in a safe way.

We will also create art projects involving math, and during different cultural holidays through out the year. On Fridays, students participate in enrichment to explore their creativity.
