Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our dancers are participating in dance routines as part of our Ballet Hispanico residency. They are learning dances from the islands of the Caribbean to perform at our highly anticipated culminating event in May.
We are asking for fedora hats and circle skirts to bring that Latin flair to these energetic dance styles.
Having these as part of their attire will give them the desired look and help make their performance more reminiscent of the actual dances performed in the islands of the Caribbean.
Our dancers learn the choreography for these dances in only 10 weeks. They work so hard to represent the cultures they are learning about in class. Their routines are performed at an end of year spectacle which is attended by their families, teachers and classmates.
