Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work in a low-income school with 21 bright, smiling 2nd graders. My students are as diverse as they are amazing. I have students who are new to our country, students who don't speak English at home, students who only speak English, and students who are gifted and talented.
We are an inclusive classroom that celebrates our diversity and our difference.
The majority of my students are English Language Learners who have very little English support outside of school. My goal is to make every student feel like they can and will reach whatever they set their mind to.
My Project
These materials will be used to help start a fresh new school year. Working in a low income school, families aren't always able to donate school supplies to the classroom. By getting these supplies now, my class will be ready to jump right into learning next school year.
A little goes a long way.
Having markers, crayons, pencils, etc. to start the year off will go a long way in helping students be ready to learn. The moment students walk into their new classroom I want them to feel comfortable and ready to start the year off right. I am excited to get this project started for my new class.
