This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our kids continue to grow and explore new and challenging movements, which often can include gymnastics and other challenging movements that help strengthen their muscles and enhance coordination. Many of our students do not have large open spaces at home, so they often like to take advantage of the open space of the dance classroom. Additionally, many little ones and students with autism can get carried away with the music and want to try a lot of acrobatic movements, but don't always understand the force in which they are throwing themselves on the floor.
A thick mat would allow students to have a soft controlled space in which they can explore such movements and allow them to have a safe environment to land if they fall.
