Safety Helmets

Help me give my students safety helmets for riding bikes and sledding at school.

My Students

I teach the most special students! Children, ages two years, ten months to five years old, come to preschool to learn and develop. The students in my program experience developmental and communication delays and qualify for special education services. They come to preschool to learn how to communicate, how to play with each other, learn school readiness skills, learn preschool concepts and learn other skills their typically developing peers may have already developed.

I love to see the excitement and smiles on all the preschoolers' faces as they get off the bus and run to all the preschool staff!

These children are some of the most loving and challenging children. They make everyday worth it! Children in my classroom experience autism, visual impairments, hearing impairments, cognitive delays, physical impairments, behavioral and social delays. As children are identified, they may be enrolled in my classroom anytime in the year. Due to earlier identification, more children are receiving effective early intervention which leads to more success in school. My goal is to make preschool fun, exciting and a great experience!

My Project

Our health and safety guidelines have been updated for our preschoolers. Part of the change is the need for our preschoolers to wear helmets while riding bikes and sledding on our snow hill.

Safety is our number one priority!

We want our preschoolers to have the opportunity to learn to ride bikes in a safe environment with the appropriate equipment. Living in an artic climate, we spend a lot of our time in the snow. Sledding is a fun and active activity. At school, including biking and sledding into our school day teaches physical activity, social-emotional skills, language skills, and motor skills. Please help me provide the opportunity for my preschoolers to take part in these activities.
